In a conference call for Apple‘s fiscal third-quarter results for the fiscal year 2018, Apple CEO Tim Cook said sales of wearables such as AirPods and Apple Watch increased 60% year-on-year.
As before, Apple does not provide sales or revenue data for any particular model or product. But Cook said that “other categories” of products, including wearables, brought Apple $3.74 billion in revenue. In the past four quarters, the cumulative revenue of wearable devices has exceeded $10 billion. According to Cook, the second-quarter sales of Apple Watch smart watches increased by 40% year-on-year.
According to Apple’s second-quarter earnings report, Apple’s total revenue for the quarter was $53.3 billion, of which 41.3 million iPhone sales contributed $29.9 billion in revenue.
Despite the decline in revenues for the Mac and iPad, the service sector‘s contribution continued to grow by leaps and bounds, with revenues up 31% year-on-year to $9.5 billion.
