ADI矽Switch Reduces Honeycomb Radio RF Front End Size/Power Consumption

Analog Devices (ADI) has announced a high-power (44W peak) single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch, the ADRF5130, which allows designers to reduce the hardware size and bias power of cellular radio systems. The data capacity of the new generation of communications infrastructure is increasing, and the cellular radio front end must be downsized and provide faster speeds to meet the demand for higher data usage.
The product switch meets these needs with high integration, eliminating the need for external components. In addition, the switch uses a low-voltage single-supply supply for lower power consumption, higher efficiency, and significantly lower current consumption than existing PIN diode solutions. The new product is manufactured using 矽 technology and is available in a small 4mm × 4mm LFCSP SMT package.
In addition, the product’s rated operating frequency range is 0.7GHz to 3.5GHz, insertion loss is typically 0.6dB, with high isolation of 50dB and excellent linearity of +68dBm, and can handle 44W peak power in continuous operation mode. All pins of this component feature robust 2000V electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and incorporate a fast CMOS compatible control interface with switching times of less than 1us. In addition, in high power applications, its symmetrical circuit architecture allows RF inputs to be used interchangeably.
